My name is George Smitheram. I’m a reluctant Kindle convert, with a dream of one day having a real library as well as a digital one. I am also a keen outdoorsman, having raced kayaks from Wiltshire to London and most of the way down the Yukon River, run a marathon in the Faroe Islands and climbed the three tallest Peaks in the UK in under 24 hours. I was born in Guernsey, educated in the UK and now based in London.

Finance has been an area of interest for a number of years, with a stockbroker for a grandfather and living in a hub for Fund and Trust business it was probably inevitable! It started as a fascination with money but has morphed into something far richer; a method of understanding the world around me.
